Avon is 6 miles north of Buxton home of the worlds tallest lighthouse, 18 miles north of Hatteras village. Avon is centrally located giving you easy access to all areas of the Island. Only 1 mile from beach access ramp 34 - 2 miles from ramp 38. Beach is approximatly a 7-10 minute walk from park. |

When you stay at Sands of Time Campground, located in the quaint fishing village of Kinnakeet, you will enjoy the serenity of Hatteras Island as in days gone by with the modern convenience of today. We are within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, a fishing pier, entertainment and pristine beaches.
